An Adriatic Blue, 795 horsepower Mustang is already sold. Before the keys change hands, it still has to pass inspection, preparation and a careful dealership delivery.
IT IS ARRIVING ALREADY SOLD.
The incoming car is a 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC finished in Adriatic Blue Metallic with Black Onyx leather trimmed Recaro seats. Its supercharged 5.2 liter V8 produces 795 horsepower and 660 pound feet of torque through a Tremec seven speed dual clutch transmission. The factory window sticker lists a total MSRP of $145,825. The vehicle is already sold, so this is not an inventory advertisement or a report of the customer's final transaction price.

THE WINDOW STICKER READS LIKE A TRACK CAR BUILD SHEET.
A $103,490 base price is joined by the $36,500 Track Pack, $495 Adriatic Blue paint, a $745 seven year connectivity package, a $2,600 gas guzzler tax and $1,995 destination charge. Track Pack equipment includes carbon ceramic brakes, exposed carbon fiber wheels, a carbon fiber track wing and 305/30ZR20 front and 315/30ZR20 rear tires. Race Red brake calipers and the no charge Classic Package complete the configuration.

THE FIRST STOP IS CHECK IN AND PDI.
The car will reach the dealership on an open or enclosed transporter. After it is checked in, the team will inspect its condition and complete the pre delivery inspection. Technicians also verify whether the VIN has any open recalls or required campaigns. Anything outstanding must be addressed before the vehicle can move forward for delivery.

DETAIL TURNS TRANSPORT INTO DELIVERY.
Once the Dark Horse SC passes inspection, it goes to detail for a complete cleaning and wax. If the customer requested window tint, that work is installed at the dealership as part of the preparation. Transport film, dust and the practical signs of shipping give way to the finished car the owner expects to see.
THE SALESPERSON PREPARES THE MOMENT.
While the customer completes finance, the salesperson fills the car with fuel and parks it on the delivery pad. That quiet step matters. It gives the owner a clean, prepared and properly staged first look instead of making the handoff feel like one more transaction in a parking lot.
FORDPASS IS PART OF THE HANDOFF.
The delivery includes helping the owner activate FordPass and connect the car. Depending on equipment, service and connectivity, the app can support functions such as remote start, vehicle location, climate controls and service scheduling. The goal is to make sure the owner understands the technology before leaving, not after a frustrating first night at home.
DELIVERY CONTINUES AFTER THE CUSTOMER LEAVES.
Before the car departs, the salesperson helps schedule the first service appointment with an advisor and explains Ford Pickup and Delivery where available. The following day, the salesperson calls to confirm that the car is still everything the customer expected and to answer any questions that surfaced after the first drive. A proper delivery does not end when the taillights leave the lot.
This report combines specifications from the sold vehicle's factory window sticker with a firsthand description of the dealership's normal delivery process. The author works for a Ford dealership, while Motor Current remains independently owned and received no payment for this article. The car has not yet arrived and the customer is not identified. Procedures can vary by dealer and vehicle. The cover and blue action photographs show a separate Argon Blue Ford press vehicle, and the red car is another Ford press vehicle. The incoming sold car is Adriatic Blue Metallic. All photographs are used for editorial reporting.
